Kathmandu. Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RASWPA), has been re-elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Chitwan Constituency No. 2. According to the final vote results announced on Saturday, Lamichhane won by getting 54 thousand 402 votes. A total of 87 thousand 28 votes were counted in this area. Lamichhane has defeated his nearest competitor Meena Kharel of Nepali Congress by a margin of 39 thousand 838 votes. Kharel got only 14,564 votes.

Earlier, in the 2079 general election, Lamichhane won from this region by a margin of 34 thousand 281 votes. After losing his position due to citizenship dispute, he further increased the vote margin to 42 thousand 962 in the by-election held in 2080 Baisakh. In this election too, Lamichhane maintained his popularity and won by a wide margin. According to the election results, CPN (UML) candidate Asmin Ghimire got 6,992 votes, while CPN Pratap Gurung got 4,969 votes.

Lamichhane got 49 thousand 300 and 54 thousand 176 votes respectively in the previous elections. This time he has completed a 'hat trick' in Chitwan by getting 54 thousand 402 votes. Lamichhane's votes are almost four times more than the total votes received by Congress and UML candidates. Now in Chitwan, RSVP workers are preparing for a huge victory rally.
