Proportional ballot is public, the largest in Kathmandu
Kathmandu. The Election Commission has released the sample ballot papers of various districts and constituencies for the House of Representatives election to be held on February 21. The commission has released the sample of the ballot papers of all the seven provinces.
It has also released a sample of one type of the district with only one constituency and a different sample of the district with more than one constituency.
The sample ballot will be used for voter education. According to the spokesperson of Election Commission, Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, a sample ballot paper has also been prepared based on the number of candidates. In constituencies with more candidates, the size of ballot paper is relatively large and in constituencies with fewer candidates, smaller ballot papers are printed. Karnali province which has only one constituency has Salyan, Dolpa, Mugu, Jumla, Kalikot, Humla, Jajarkot and Rukumpaschim and two constituencies in Dailekh and Surkhet. The commission has also made public the sample of the ballot papers of those districts.
Similarly, only one constituency remains in Bajura, Bajhang, Doti, Darchula, Baitadi and Dadeldhura of Far Western Province. There are two constituencies in Achham, three in Kanchanpur and five in Kailali. The commission has also made public the sample ballot papers of all those constituencies. Ballots for the proportional election system have been printed.
