Prohibition on alcohol consumption and sale and distribution from today throughout the election period
Kathmandu. The government has banned the sale, distribution and consumption of intoxicants for the entire election period. The meeting of the high-level election security committee has decided to 'prohibit sale, distribution and consumption of intoxicants from seven days before the date of voting until the final results of the election are announced'. There are only seven days left for the election.
Voting will start from seven o'clock in the morning on February 21. According to the Election Commission, based on the assessment of the security situation and the guidance and recommendations regarding the security arrangements, other decisions necessary to conduct the election in a clean, reliable and fear-free environment were implemented through the meeting of the high-level election security committee.
