Priest shot dead in Saptari
Surlahi. The priest of Kabir Baba Mandir located at 8 Rajakapatti in Bodebershine Municipality of Saptari was shot dead. On Saturday night, 70-year-old Ram Dular Sah died on the spot after being shot by an unknown group, DSP Dumbar Puri, spokesperson of District Police Office Saptari informed. According to the police, Shah was urinating on the road in front of his hut at night when two shots were fired from behind. He died instantly when the bullet hit his back near the navel.
After the incident became public, the team led by the police inspector secured the scene and started the investigation. The police said that two bullet casings were recovered from the scene. The police said that the shooter is absconding and a team has been mobilized from District Police Office Saptari and Area Police Office Kadarwona to search for them. The body of the deceased has been sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan for post-mortem.
