The draft ordinance prepared by the Ministry of Home Affairs has been sent to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs after suggestions from stakeholders. Home Minister Omprakash Aryal said that the draft of the ordinance is to allow the citizens of different constituencies to participate in voting along with those who are abroad.
Minister Aryal said, "We are trying to get voters from out of country and out of constituencies to participate in the election." We have sent the draft of the ordinance to the Ministry of Law. The ordinance sent to the Ministry of Law will be sent to the relevant ministry after necessary amendments. After approval by the Council of Ministers, it will go to the process of issuance by the President. According to the preparations, the ordinance will get its final form by next week.
Citizens living abroad will be able to vote for proportionality if the ordinance is issued and implemented according to the proposed system.
