Tokyo. Preparations for 'Tokyo Week-2025', which is to be held in Tokyo, Japan next week, are almost complete. A great yajna is going to be held in Tokyo's Shinjuku from November 8 to 15 to build its own building and temple for the Nepali community.

The organizing committee has informed that the physical preparations for the week to be held at Ku Kabukicho in Shinjuku have been completed and some internal preparations have been accelerated. Pravin Pandit Deenbandhu Pokharel has arrived in Tokyo from Nepal as the main speaker of the week.

As soon as he reached Japan, he got information about the preparations from the original organizing committee. He also interacted with the organizing committee and the local Nepali community at the auditorium of Meghuro Community Center in Meghuro today.

This week is going to be held to collect money for the purpose of building their own community building for various gatherings, ceremonies and religious activities of Nepalese living in Japan. Pashupatinath and Buddhist temple will also be in that building.

15 crore target in seven days

A target of collecting 15 crores from devotees has been taken from the week for the construction of 'Integrated Nepali House: Multicultural Centre'. Salikram Bhandari, coordinator of the organizing parent committee, said that thousands of Nepalis will participate in the week and the amount equal to the target will be collected.

For the convenience of donors, it has been arranged that donations can be made online through cash, cheque, credit card and debit card and PayPal. An auditing team and a treasurer team under the organizing committee have been formed to make all financial transactions of the week agile and transparent.

President Lamichhane expressed hope that Nepali people will come from Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka, the cities around Tokyo, during the week. "Nepalese are coming from that place on certain days," he said.

The Nepali community here has now gathered to build its own building in Japan for religious activities and cultural activities from birth to death within the Nepali community.

The decision of the chief Bachaka Dinbandhu

According to Pokharel, the main speaker, Tokyo Week will be a new use of spirituality. He has announced that he will advance the week according to the concept of human union. He believes that this week will add a new dimension to Japan itself. He said, "This week will be of 'laughing, teasing and saving' style."

He said that Nepali who have reached any corner of the world are worried that their religion, culture and tradition will be destroyed. "This week is going to be held in Japan to make up for that," he said.

Before this, he has been conducting similar weeks and various religious worships in different states in America, and he has also done similar work in Australia and Europe. Based on this, he also narrated the experience of the Nepalese community being divided into different castes or classes and communities and not counting others.

"Nowadays, there is a culture of not accepting each other's existence," he added, "I believe that this week will not only raise money, but also bring together all scattered minds and thoughts."

Tokyo Week is different than ever

Organizers have claimed that this week will be different from the previous one, as there is also a program of worship related to Buddhism. The chief speaker Pokharel also said that spirituality will be made effective by connecting it with science through the week. Pokharel claims that this week, which is going to be held for the first time in Tokyo by the Nepali community, will bring positive changes in the youth and teenagers.

"You will see the difference between the youth of the week before and the youth of the week after," he said, "Tokyo is now in a campaign." This action will also give a message of unity among Nepalis living in Japan.

Pokharel, who arrived in Japan a week ago, said that if necessary, he would also make every effort for the presence of more Nepalis. He mentioned that he is also ready to go and play a role with Nepali organizations and eminent persons.

Pandit said, "I will also use some secrets for the success of the week together with the organizer."

With the aim of spreading the message of religious, cultural and social unity among the Nepali community, 'Tokyo Week 2025' is going to be organized by the Non-Resident Nepali Association, NRN Japan.

Subhash Lamichhane, President of NRN Japan, said that Pandit Pokharel and great Buddhist Guru Tulku Sonam Garwang Rimpoche will deliver sermons during the week program. According to Lamichhane, spiritual messages from both Hindu and Buddhist traditions will be conveyed throughout the week.
