Preparations for Chhath festival have started, pond ghats are being decorated

Janakpur. With the end of Tihar, preparations for Chhath festival have started in Terai Madhesh along with Janakpurdham. The ponds and ghats of Janakpurdham are being decorated for Chhath, which is celebrated with grandeur. Chhath festival in Janakpurdham is considered to be the most famous festival in Nepal. In addition to cleaning the ghats of Janakpurdham's Gangasagar Pond, Dhanush Sagar, Aragazza Pond, Rukmini Pond, Agnikund, Dhruvkund, Ratnasagar, Dashrath Lake and other ponds, tents are being put up rapidly.

The Chhath festival, which is celebrated for four days, is starting from Saturday this year. On Saturday, the 'bathing-eating' method will be performed. On the first day, Brati does the work of 'bathing and eating' to purify the body and mind.

On the second day, the Kharna ritual is performed and on the third day, Argha is offered to the setting sun. On the last i.e. fourth day, the four-day festival is completed after argha is offered to the rising sun.
