Police overnight 'Operation Safety': Five involved in hooliganism, 18 arrested from airport
Kathmandu. Last night, Kathmandu Police conducted 'Operation Safety' and arrested five people involved in hooliganism in different places of the valley and also arrested 18 people who were causing trouble and harassment to passengers at the airport. According to the Spokesperson of District Police Complex Kathmandu, Superintendent of Police Pawan Bhattarai, the police arrested Praveen Tamang, known as 'Dimple', who was involved in hooliganism in the Shyam Lama group in Buddh, last night by conducting 'Operation Safety Kathmandu'.
Similarly, Birju Maharjan, who was involved in hooliganism in the Kalanki-Bafal area of Kathadau, Sujan Karki, who was involved in hooliganism in the bus ticket counter-petrol pump area of Kathadau, Saru Humagai, who was involved in hooliganism in Suchatar area, and Biki Lama, who was involved in robbery and hooliganism in the Buddhist area, were arrested, Bhattarai said.
Meanwhile, spokesperson Bhattarai said that 18 people were also arrested from the Tribhuvan Airport area at night, who harassed passengers, took them to hotels they knew and took commissions from passengers and hotels.
