Permission for construction of three transmission lines
Kathmandu. The government has granted permission for the construction of three transmission lines so far in the current financial year. The Electricity Development Department under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has granted construction permission to the Nalgad Maintada transmission line, which is considered important for connecting the Bheri Corridor to the national electricity system. The transmission line is 75 km long.
The department said that the transmission line with a total capacity of 400 kV can transmit electricity equal to 2,400 megawatts. The National Broadcasting Grid Company is constructing the transmission line. Permission has also been granted for the construction of Khorunga Khola transmission line of 33 KV capacity. The transmission line is 4.38 km. The transmission line transmits 4.8 megawatts of electricity. The transmission line is about to be built to connect the electricity produced by the hydroelectric project to the system.
Super Sardi Khola Hydropower is also constructing a 3.68 km long transmission line of 33 KV capacity to connect to the produced electricity system. 2.9 megawatts of electricity will flow through the transmission line. So far, the department has granted permission for the construction of a total of 274 small and large transmission lines.
