Kathmandu. People's Movement Day is being celebrated today by organizing various programs to commemorate the restoration of democracy in Nepal. V.No. Today is the day to commemorate the restoration of democracy by ending the 30-year-old Panchayat governance system on 26 Chait 2046. The Panchayati system started by Raja Mahendra on 1st January 2017 ended on 26th Chait 2046.
The 30-year panchayat system came to an end after the joint people's movement with the Left Front under the leadership of the Nepali Congress. Since that day, the multi-party system of government has been restored in Nepal.
