Paushkrishna visited Gokarneshwar to perform Shraddha of Aunsi
Kathmandu. Gokarneshwar North Gaya area is thronged by devotees who perform Shraddha on the occasion of Paushkrishna Aunsi from early morning. Jorpati (Gokarna) Sundarijal road has been jammed since morning due to the rush of devotees coming to perform Shraddha at Gokarneshwar Uttar Gaya.
Passengers are complaining about the problem of traffic jams on that route for two hours. The vehicles of various schools and campuses also have to sit in long traffic jams to go beyond Nepal Medical College. Ram Bahadur Tamang, a graduate student studying at GP Koirala Campus Siphal, complains that he is having trouble going to the campus due to traffic jams.
The Gokarneshwar municipality has been demanding to open the road inside the Gokarna forest under the office of Nepal Trust so that the passengers can easily travel from this crowd to the Gokarneshwar Mahadev temple area. This road along the forest wall is in a usable condition after moving the wall up a little. As the wall is broken in places, if it is agreed to move it up a little while building a new one, the passengers will get relief. By opening this road, it will be easy for vehicles to exit from the south door in front of the Gokarneshwar Mahadev temple.
The houses built on the waste land of the Gokarneshwar Mahadev temple area are always jammed on the narrow road because they do not follow the road standards. Local residents and travelers say that the municipality has not been able to take initiative to solve this problem. It is said that former Chief Secretary Chandra Bahadur Thapa gave the paper to the settlement which was created by mixing the land of the temple area. Gokarneshwar Uttar Gaya area is also becoming narrow due to unorganized settlements.
