Kathmandu. The Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court has issued a show-cause order in the petition filed by the UML against the dissolution of the House of Representatives. A five-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut ordered to submit a written reply within seven days on Wednesday.

Similarly, the constitutional bench has also ordered to keep together the writs against the dissolution of the House of Representatives which were registered and under consideration. UML sought an interim order in the writ, but the Supreme Court did not issue it. On behalf of the UML, Mahesh Bertaula, the then chief whip of the parliamentary party, and Sunita Baral, a whip, filed a petition saying that the House of Representatives should be restored. On the recommendation of Prime Minister Sushila Karki, President Ramchandra Poudel dissolved the House of Representatives on 27 August.
