Orange festival in Muglin from today

An orange festival is going to be held in Muglin Bazaar under the joint project of Chitwan Industry Association Ichchakamana Committee and Hoteliers Association Ichchakamana Unit. Ramhari Kandel, chairman of Chitwan Industry Association Ichchakamana Committee, said that the festival was organized with the belief that it would help to attract domestic and foreign tourists. He informed that there will be more than 50 rooms in the exhibition. Farmers who produce 100 wishful oranges at the festival will directly benefit from their production. The organizers believe that this will protect and promote local art, culture and tradition.

According to the organizer, there will be various programs aimed at orange farmers including orange eating contest and interaction between orange expert farmers and public representatives at the festival. Chairman Kandel said that he believes that the festival to be held in the Muglin market area will help to promote local products.

Dan Bahadur Gurung, Chairman of Ichchakamana Rural Municipality, said that the people of this area make a business of Rs 90 million to Rs 100 million annually from orange production. He said that because the oranges here are delicious, there is no problem in the market to sell them. The rural municipality has been distributing seedlings every year to protect orange orchards and expand new areas.
