One person died due to firing in Sunsari border area, demonstration at the incident site
Biratnagar. 45-year-old Vijay Sah of Koshi Rural Municipality 1 has died in the shooting in the border area of Sunsari. The incident took place in Puri toll near Armed Police Base Camp BOP Laukhi. According to Chandra Bahadur Khadka, Spokesperson of District Police Office Sunsari, it was seen that shots were fired targeting the driver while bringing goods through City Safari at the incident site near the Nepal-India border.
Police said that bullet casings were found at the scene and a detailed investigation is ongoing. After the incident, local residents and families of the injured have started a demonstration. According to initial reports, it is suspected that the shooting was from the armed police. The police have intensified the investigation by maintaining control of the scene.
