One hundred and nine kilos of ganja under police control

Kathmandu. The police seized a large quantity of marijuana and an Indian car near Sahasaula Chowk located in Ramgopalpur Municipality-8 of Mahottari. According to Chief Superintendent of Police Heramb Sharma of District Police Office Mahottari, 109 kg of ganja packed in 20 pouches was seized while it was about to be smuggled to India.

At around 11 o'clock last night, a team of the Narcotics Bureau and the local police office of Ramgopalpur conducted a raid on the basis of secret information that drugs were being transported through the East-West Highway. The police seized the Indian car number DL 1 CO 5869 but the driver absconded.

Superintendent of Police Sharma informed that the seized marijuana and the car are currently under police custody and further legal action is being taken and the search for the absconding driver is underway.
