On the third Monday of July, throngs of devotees in Shivalayas, a special worship of Shiva
Kathmandu. Hindus are celebrating the third Monday of July by worshiping Lord Shiva. The month of July and especially Monday is considered as the holy time of the year for worshiping Shiva.
These days, there is a large presence of devotees and worship in major temples across the country from early morning. It is believed that fasting and worshiping Lord Shiva on the Monday of July will bring family happiness, peace, wish fulfillment and special fruits.
Especially women dress up in green, yellow clothes and bangles and worship Shiva. Various Shiva temples like Pashupatinath in Kathmandu, Doleshwar in Bhaktapur, Kumbheshwar in Lalitpur have been thronged since early morning.
