Nine thousand security personnel deployed for election security in Jhapa

Kathmandu. Due to the clash of heavyweight candidates, election security has been tightened in the election epicenter Jhapa. Considering the security sensitivity, the local administration has mobilized nine thousand security personnel including Nepal Police, Armed Police, Nepali Army and Election Police.

Nepal Police has mobilized a large number of police including Senior Superintendent of Police Gobind Adhikari to coordinate Jhapa and Ilam after analyzing the security sensitivity of Jhapa. In Jhapa, which has 285 polling stations, there are 43 normal polling stations, 147 sensitive polling stations and 95 highly sensitive polling stations. The chief district officer of Jhapa, Shivram Gelal, said that along with the staff who go to the polling station, security personnel have also been mobilized. Nepal Police will provide security in the first circle, Armed Forces in the second and Nepali Army in the third circle.

According to him, all three levels of security agencies are doing joint patrolling and patrolling. Prazia Gelal claims that the Jhapa elections will be peaceful. "We request citizens to come and cast their votes with confidence," he said.
