Kathmandu. Nepal has qualified for the T20 ICC World Cup 2026 to be held in India and Sri Lanka next year. Nepal has qualified for the World Cup after finishing in the top three in the Asia and EAP qualifiers held in Oman.

In the 'Super Six' of the ongoing tournament, Nepal has secured a place in the World Cup today after UAE defeated Somao by 77 runs. With this, Nepal managed to reach the World Cup for the second time in a row and overall for the third time. Earlier, Nepal played the World Cup in 2014 and 2024.

According to the mathematical equation, if Samoa had defeated UAE, Nepal would have needed two more points to reach the World Cup. But with UAE winning the game, Nepal's journey to the World Cup became easy.

Also, Oman has secured a place in the World Cup. In another match completed today, Qatar defeated Japan by three wickets and Oman also reached the World Cup. Nepal and Oman currently have 6 points from three matches. While UAE has four points, Japan and Qatar have the same two points. Now in the last match, UAE will face Japan. After that match, the third team that will reach the World Cup will be decided.
