Nepal in the final of ACC U-19 Premier Cup

Kathmandu. Nepal has reached the finals of the ACC U-19 Premier Cup Cricket. Nepal defeated Malaysia by 9 wickets in the semi-final on Saturday due to the excellent bowling of opening bowlers Nitesh Kumar Patel and Chandan Ram. After winning the toss, Nepal invited Malaysia to bat for the first time at Seven Distic Ground-2 in Ajman. Malaysia were bundled out for 51 runs in 17.2 overs. Nitesh took 2 wickets for 24 runs with 2 maidens in 8 overs. Chandan took 3 wickets for 17 runs keeping 1 maiden in 5 overs. Captain Ashok Dhami and Roshan Vishwakarma also added 1 wicket each.

Mohammad Fathul Muin, number nine from Malaysia scored 11 runs and Hamzah Pangi scored 13 runs. Apart from these two, other players could not reach double figures. When Malaysia lost 7 wickets in 13 runs in 8 overs, both of them advanced the innings.

In reply, Nepal made 55 runs within 8 overs. Although Niraj Kumar Yadav was dismissed for 4 runs, Vansh Chhetri remained unbeaten with 7 runs off 17 balls and Nischal Chhetri scored 10 runs off 14 balls.

After defeating Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong, Nepal won the group and will now play the final against the winner of the other semi-final between UAE and Oman.
