Nepal gave three and a half million US dollars for the reconstruction of two religious places in Myanmar

Kathmandu. The Government of Nepal has provided 350,000 US dollars to the Government of Myanmar for the reconstruction of two religious heritage sites in Myanmar that were damaged by the powerful earthquake of last March.
Ambassador of Nepal to Myanmar Harishchandra Ghimire handed over a check of 300,000 US dollars to Secretary General of the Pagoda Than Ula at a ceremony held recently at the Mahamuni Pagoda complex located in the south (west) region of Mandalay city of Myanmar, according to the Embassy of Nepal in Yangon.
He also handed over a check of US$50,000 to the president of the temple, Pawan Bajoria, for the reconstruction of the Gangaghat Hindu temple.
Gangaghat Temple is an important religious place of the Nepali community living in Myanmar. It has been mentioned in the statement issued by the embassy that it reflects the commitment of the Nepalese government to support the protection of common religious heritage and the restoration of places of cultural importance affected by natural disasters.
