National Life’s “Raising the Bar, Redefining Success”: Business Expansion Accompanied by Recognition of Outstanding Branches and Employees

Gorkha. National Life Insurance Company Limited has successfully concluded its four-day Branch Managers Conference at Hotel Manakamana Hillcrest Resort in Manakamana, Gorkha. Organized under the theme “Raising the Bar, Redefining Success,” the conference featured extensive discussions and training on business expansion, upcoming business strategies, challenges in the competitive insurance market, and employee capacity development.

The formal program was inaugurated by lighting the traditional ceremonial lamp under the chairmanship of Company Chairperson Mrs. Prema Rajya Lakshmi Singh. Addressing the event, Chairperson Singh said that the life insurance business is becoming increasingly competitive and that everyone must prepare themselves accordingly to promote and expand the business. She said the company has always been committed to providing necessary training and capacity-building opportunities to its employees.

She also emphasized the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is currently gaining global attention and has significant potential to contribute to the life insurance sector. She said the company is working to train its employees in AI and promote digital marketing to further strengthen its business.

The Chairperson stated that the company has continuously invested as much as possible in human resources and contributed to the career development of its employees. She assured that such efforts would continue in the coming days as well. She expressed confidence that greater efforts and better coordination among employees would help the company achieve further growth in its business performance.

Company Chief Executive Officer Suresh Prasad Khatri delivered the welcome address. He said that the beginning of a new fiscal year marks the start of a new journey, new commitments and new opportunities. He emphasized that it is not merely a change of calendar but also an important occasion to renew thoughts, commitments and determination to take the company's future to a higher level.

More than 200 participants, including departmental heads, provincial heads, branch managers and marketing employees from across the country, attended the conference. Director of the Nepal Insurance Authority, Shambhuraj Lamichhane, conducted a training session on anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorist activities.

Lamichhane emphasized that the possibility of money laundering through life insurance is increasing and stressed that employees at all levels of the company must remain particularly alert and responsible while carrying out their duties.

Similarly, with the objective of enhancing employees' technological capabilities, AI trainer Bishwaraj Paudel conducted a special training session on Artificial Intelligence. He introduced participants to various AI tools and provided practical guidance on how AI can be used to make digital marketing of insurance products and services more effective.

International trainer Suran D. Silva from Sri Lanka also provided training on achieving professional success while addressing challenges in expanding business in a competitive insurance market. He presented various practical examples and shared strategies for market expansion, business growth and achieving success in a competitive environment.

On the occasion of the conference, five branch offices that performed exceptionally well in various aspects of branch operations during the fiscal year 2082/83 were recognized and awarded. In addition, three outstanding branch offices were recognized based on the highest first-year premium collection, highest number of active agents produced and highest number of insurance policies issued.

The company also honored one outstanding branch office each that successfully selected the highest number of agents under the Chairperson Club and CEO Club schemes. The awards and recognition were presented by Company Chairperson Prema Rajya Lakshmi Singh.

The conference also included various musical and recreational activities aimed at developing employees' capabilities while strengthening interpersonal relationships and teamwork. Badminton and table tennis competitions for male and female employees, along with activities such as musical chairs, were organized during the event. Chief Executive Officer Suresh Prasad Khatri presented awards to employees who excelled in various categories of the sports competitions.
