The Monday fast dedicated to Shiva begins at sunrise and ends at sunset. Food is eaten after the evening aarti. Shiva and Parvati are worshiped and worshiped during the day. But worship of Ganesha is mandatory before any worship.

Fasting on Monday is believed to fulfill people's desires and aspirations. That is how knowledge is acquired. It is still customary for unmarried women to fast on Mondays to find a good husband.
