Ministry's request to tighten pesticide control
Kathmandu. The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has requested the local levels across the country to control the deadly and banned pesticides that are being used uncontrollably on vegetables and fruits. Based on the news in various media and the information of concerned agencies, the ministry has taken this step saying that there is a serious threat to human health and environmental balance.
The Agriculture and Livestock Business Promotion Division of the Ministry has issued a five-point letter to all local levels today. It is said that the role of the local government will be decisive in this matter, which is directly related to the health of the people, as the responsibility of agriculture and agricultural production management has been assigned to the local level by the Constitution of Nepal.
