Kathmandu. The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has clarified that the decision to give free MBBS study opportunity to Ekta Shah, who was injured during the Genji movement, is not against the law and rules. According to the rules of the Medical Education Commission, the scholarship has been distributed on the basis of 'merit' and legal standards, but this year, after the distribution of MBBS seats, there was some protest on the grounds that extra quota was given. After that, the ministry issued a statement and clarified the matter.
According to the ministry, this arrangement is not within the regular free scholarship quota under the National Medical Education Act, 2075, but as an additional special scholarship quota. It is mentioned in the statement that the government has provided opportunities for study through a separate decision by arranging the budget.
