Masterni's controversial song removed, Priyanka and Durgesh apologize
Kathmandu. The promotional song 'Taarabaji Lailai' of the movie 'Masterni' starring singer Durgesh Thapa and Priyanka Karki has been removed from YouTube after it got into controversy.
The song was removed after being criticized for presenting offensive and unlimited words and scenes towards teachers, especially female teachers and the teaching profession.
As soon as the song was published, teachers' associations and organizations, including the Nepal Teachers' Federation and the Nepal Relief Teachers' National Committee, raised objections. They demanded that the song be removed immediately, saying that it has harmed the dignity of teachers and the teaching profession.
After the controversy, actress and film producer Priyanka Karki has apologized through social media. She has apologized on behalf of herself and her entire team saying that some of the words and scenes of the song have hurt the dignity of the profession of teachers and the personalities associated with it.
