Marijuana smuggling in an ambulance, police opened fire to catch the trafficker
Biratnagar. In Morang, it was found that an ambulance was being used to transport ganja. The police said that they opened fire to arrest the ganja dealer. At around 11.30 pm on Sunday night, the police fired in the air at Kerabari Rural Municipality-5 Lafa Toll of Morang and seized the marijuana loaded in the ambulance. The police also arrested two people.
The police tried to stop the ambulance No. 1-06-001 Jh 0004 coming from Dhankuta towards Morang at Kerabari-5 Lafa toll. As soon as they saw the police, the ambulance driver, Nischal Rai, 35, of Sahidbhoomi Rural Municipality-6, Dhankuta, and Khagendra Limbu, 20, of Sangurigarhi Rural Municipality-2, who were riding in the ambulance, ran away.
Then the police fired 1 round in the air from a Chinese pistol. According to Morang police chief Superintendent of Police Kavit Katwal, both the passengers in the ambulance were arrested. According to the police, around 480 kg of marijuana loaded in the ambulance was recovered.
The police arrested 24-year-old Abul Hasan and 30-year-old Sohail Khan with 330 kg of marijuana from Jahda Rural Municipality-2 Tarigama on Saturday.
