Main News Image

Kathmandu. A study has shown that looted weapons and escaped prisoners are the main security challenges for the upcoming House of Representatives elections.  In the detailed study conducted by the Nepal Law Society in 33 local levels of 35 districts, it is mentioned in the study report that misuse of social networks, stolen weapons and escaped prisoners are the main challenges of election security. Despite the integrated security plan adopted by the government for the elections, the spread of malice and misleading content on social media is the main security challenge.

Similarly, the report mentions the possibility that the conflict between the traditional political forces and the new faction may escalate. In spite of various challenges, it has been shown that the agile preparation of the security agencies has instilled high confidence in the voters. According to the executive director of Kanun Samaj, Krishnaman Pradhan, the conclusion of the study is that the quick and agile preparation of the security agencies has instilled confidence in the voters. Since the integrated security plan has been implemented in almost all the districts, it has been seen that the security personnel are capable of maintaining peace and order.
