Life members of Nepal Academy will no longer get double benefit allowance

Kathmandu. In a meeting held on Falgun 11, 2079 under the chairmanship of the Chancellor of the Academic Council of Nepal Nepal academy Bhupal Rai, it was decided to stop the double allowance received by the life members of Nepal Academy.

Earlier, the Supreme Court had given an interim order on a writ petition filed by 11 lifelong academic members including Prada Vasudev Tripathi in the Supreme Court against the decision of the Council. But on the 1st of Chait 2082, the said writ petition was rejected by the joint bench of Hon'ble Judge Manoj Kumar Sharma and Hon'ble Judge Nripadhwaj Niraula.

There are 11 life members who are receiving double facility allowance as follows.

1. Prof. Dr. Vasudev Tripathi,

2. Pvt. Dr. Chudamani Bandhu Regmi,

3. Ganga Prasad Upreti,

4. Pvt. Dr. Yogendra Prasad Yadav,

5. Tirtha Bahadur Shrestha,

6 r. D. 'Prabhas' Chatout (Rajeshwaridatta Chatout),

7. Ashesh Kumar Malla,

8. Dr. Dhuvacandra Gautam,

9. Toya Gurung,

10. Tulsi Prasad Joshi (Tulsi Day) 11. Shashivikram Shah

According to the decision of the court which was made 3 years after the decision of the council, Prajna Pratishthan does not have to provide allowance to those life members from now on to get double benefits.
