Khamen will be cremated at his place of birth

Kathmandu. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's funeral will be held in Mashhad. But its date and time have not been fixed. According to Iran's state news agency Fars, Khamenei's body will be buried near the shrine of Imam Reza.

Khamenei was also born in 1939 in Mashhad. Iran's next supreme leader will be announced only after Khamenei's funeral. On Tuesday, the news came out that the assembly of experts voted to elect the Supreme Leader. The assembly of experts consists of 88 members, who will elect the country's supreme leader. Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei was killed in a US-Israeli attack on February 28. The post has been vacant since then.
