Myagdi. Karnakumari Purja Pun, a single woman from Beni Municipality-3, Marek, Myagdi, started the construction of a concrete house by selling last year's oranges.  Karnakumari, who has reached the age of 72 years, is making a slope at her house, which she is building by spending some of her savings, including Rs. 1.5 million earned by selling oranges last year. This year, he has grown oranges worth more than Rs 10 lakh. The house is built from two years of oranges grown by Karna Kumari. After he started getting enough income from oranges, his first choice was to build a house. Earlier, his mud house was in dilapidated condition. 

After the death of her husband, Karna Kumari's orchard, which grew oranges, is now located in Pahenalpur after struggling to find plowing oxen and farmers to work. Karna Kumari, who stopped growing traditional crops like corn, millet and wheat, brought some orange plants and started farming about 20 years ago. She earned Rs 1,600 by selling the first crop. From Suntala, she has realized Rs 100, through Rs 1,000 to Rs 15 lakh. Now the orange garden is spread over an area of ​​10 plants in Karnakumari.

One year, when the oranges were destroyed by disease, Karnakumari, who did not eat anything despite being disappointed, used to spend her days in the orange garden. "I take care of the orange tree like my offspring, these orange trees have become the ones that make me happy, even in my old age, my daily life continues with oranges", she said. Karnakumari says that she is satisfied with the production even though the fruits are less than last year. 

Karna Kumari said that after her husband, who had gone to Afghanistan for employment, died in a terrorist attack in 2067, she was forced to take care of the household. He says that orange has made everyday life easier. Karna Kumari said that the earnings of the oranges have saved her daughters' education, marriage and other household expenses.
