Juice production after kiwis are not sold
Baglung. The women of Tarakhola rural municipality have started producing kiwi juice. Five years ago, women planted kiwis all over the fields in the village hoping to sell them at a high price, but now they are unable to find a market, so they have started making juice. Although the production is high, they have started making juice to prevent millions of kiwis from going to waste due to lack of market.
The women of Pandherakhola Asturi Agricultural Group in Hilgaon, Tarakhola Rural Municipality 93, were excited after the Kiwis they planted in their fields grew. But they are worried because the demand for the product is not coming. Deukumari Rokamagar, a member of the group, said that normal quantities are sent to nearby markets such as Galkot and Baglung.
She said that since two years ago, lots of kiwis have started to grow in the bari and they are in trouble due to the market problem. He says that this year alone, more than 1,000 bottles of juice have been produced. Rokamagar said that the juice is packaged in 250 milliliter and half liter bottles and is now in the market.
