Jawalakhel Sadar Zoo reopened from today after control of bird flu
Lalitpur. The historic Sadar Zoo at Jawalakhel in Lalitpur has been reopened to the public from today after the bird flu infection has been brought under control. On June 5, the zoo was completely closed for security reasons after bird flu infection was confirmed among birds including crows, vultures and ducks inside the zoo.
In order to prevent the spread of infection, effective treatment of sick birds, intensive cleaning of cages and necessary management tasks were completed. After that, after the laboratory test of the environmental sample taken was found to be negative for Avian Influenza 9 Bird Flu 0 virus, it was decided to bring the zoo back into operation.
