Iran drone strike on Dubai's huge oil storage facility
Iran. Iran launched a drone attack on the Fujairah port of the United Arab Emirates on Saturday. This attack took place after the US attacked the Kharg Island in Iran. UAE officials say efforts to put out the fire in Fujairah are continuing. According to them, the fire started when the drone that was destroyed by the air defense system fell.
Fujairah port is a very important place for UAE. It is considered one of the largest oil storage centers in the Middle East. Also, it is seen as a major hub for supplying fuel to international ships.
This port is located in the Gulf of Oman. To reach here, ships do not have to cross the Strait of Hormuz, which has been almost closed for two weeks since the start of the war in the water area. Videos posted on social media after the drone attack showed thick smoke rising from the infrastructure complex on the east coast of the UAE.
