Instructions to doctors not to prescribe medicine through social media

Kathmandu. The Nepal Medical Council has instructed doctors not to prescribe medicine without testing through social media. Dr. Satish Kumar Dev, registrar of the council, has instructed to immediately stop the practice of prescribing medicine without testing through social media such as TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.

The council has asked doctors not to broadcast audio-visual content related to health through social media in the name of 'online consultation'. Dr. Dev, the registrar of the council, asked the doctors not to publicize audio-visual material related to patients, suggest the use of drugs for various treatments, prescribe drugs, etc. through social media.
