Inflation reached 5.96 percent for the general public
Kathmandu. In the first month of the current fiscal year 2083/84, in July, the annual point consumer inflation of Nepal has reached 5.96 percent. According to the economic and financial situation statistics released by the Nepal Rastra Bank in the month of July, inflation was 1.68 percent in the same month last year.
Inflation of fod and beverages group was 6.77 percent in the month under review. Inflation of non-food and services group reached 5.52 percent. During the same period last year, the inflation of food and beverages group was negative by 2.28 percent, while the inflation of non-food and services group was 3.5 percent.
Under the food and beverage group, the price of ghee and oil has increased by 15.62 percent, fruits by 15.39 percent, fish and meat by 8.65 percent, vegetables by 6.90 percent and marmalade by 4.80 percent.
