India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishri's term extended for one more year

Kathmandu. The Government of India has extended the tenure of Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishri for one year. According to the order issued by the Cabinet of the Government of India on Wednesday, the service period of Indian Foreign Service IFS 1989 batch officer Mishri has been extended for one year after July 14, 2026.

According to the order, he will continue to hold the charge of Foreign Secretary till 14 July 2027 or until further order, whichever is earlier. According to the government, the extension of service period has been done under FR 56D.
