In the name of reduction of government expenditure and austerity, preparations are being made to add cash facilities to high-ranking government officials
Kathmandu. If the high-level government officials drive the vehicle themselves, they will get the same amount of salary as the driver. Such a new arrangement has been proposed in the draft of the 'Guidelines for Vehicle Management of Government Employees, 2083' prepared by the government. According to the guidelines, the chief secretary, secretary and joint secretary or similar high officials will be given the option of hiring a driver or driving the vehicle themselves.
If those officers choose to drive any government or private vehicle themselves, the starting scale pay amount of the light vehicle driver will be paid monthly directly to their regular pay (allowances) plus 9 times.
