Illegal godown raid in Birgunj, three policemen injured in smugglers' attack
Kathmandu. Three armed policemen were injured in an attack by a group of smugglers during a raid on an illegally run godown in Birgunj, Parsa. On Monday morning, the team that went to take action was attacked at the godown in Birgunj Metropolitan City-10. The armed police raided Madan Prasad Gupta's house in Adarshnagar based on information that clothes were stored there.
Armed Police Force Nepal No. A joint team of 13 Gana Parsa, Border Security Gulm Birganj and Birganj Customs Office seized illegal cloth worth around seven lakh rupees from that godown.
The police said that after taking control of the clothes, the group of smugglers got angry and attacked. When they pelted stones, three armed policemen were injured and two vehicles of the armed police were also damaged. After the incident, further investigation and necessary security measures have been tightened.
