If there is no election on the specified date, the House of Representatives should be reconstituted: Spokesperson Mahat
Kathmandu. Spokesperson of Nepali Congress Dr. Prakasharan Mahat has said that if the interim government cannot hold elections on time and form a new parliament, then the disbanded House of Representatives should be re-established. He opined that if the election is delayed, the constitutional confusion will increase and an alternative way should be adopted to avoid it.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 43rd Annual General Meeting of the Nepal National Dalit Social Welfare Association, Spokesperson Mahat clarified that elections are the first priority.

"Parliament will form the government," he said, "and it will hold elections again soon." There is no need to wait until 2084, elections will be held in 2083.'' Mentioning that it would be dangerous to have a vacuum in the constitutional structure for a long time, he said that Nepal should learn from the recent situation in neighboring Bangladesh.
