Identified bodies found in Trishuli are being managed in Chainpur forest with DNA samples.
The Damali. Due to the severe flooding in Bhotekoshi, the bodies found in the Trishuli River in Devghat but not yet identified, will be managed in the Chainpur forest area of Vyas Municipality 5.
Chief District Officer Shivlal Tiwari informed that the bodies are being managed so that they can be identified if relatives come to claim them in the future. He clarified that all legal and scientific procedures have been completed before handling the body.
According to the administration, the work of management has been taken forward only after the collection of DNA samples, images and other necessary details for the identification of the body. Of the 37 bodies found in the area so far, 24 have been sent to Pokhara and 14 bodies have been kept at the Provincial Hospital Damauli.
