ICC T-20 World Cup: Nepal lost to England by 4 runs

Kathmandu. Nepal lost to England by 4 runs in the first match of the ICC T-20 World Cup cricket tournament. In the match played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday, Nepal was defeated by 4 runs after chasing the target of 185 runs given by England.

Nepal reached 180 runs after losing 6 wickets in the scheduled 20 over match. For England, Bethel contributed the most 55 runs in 35 balls with the help of 4-4 fours and a six. Similarly, Brook scored 53 off 32 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes, Will Jacks scored 39 unbeaten and Jos Buttler scored 26 runs.

For Nepal, Dipendra Singh Airi scored 44 runs, Rohit Paudel scored 39 runs, Kushal Bhurtel scored 29 runs. Similarly, Lokesh Bam remained unbeaten on 39 runs. On the bowling side, England's Liam Dawson took two wickets and Will Jacks, Sam Curran, Jofra Archer and Luke Wood took one wicket each. On the bowling side for Nepal, Dipendra Singh Airi and Nandan Yadav took 2-2 and Sandeep Lamichhane and Sher Malla took 1-1 wickets.
