Human Rights Commission's concern about the arrest of Durga Prasai
Kathmandu. The National Human Rights Commission has expressed concern about the arrest of medical practitioner Durga Prasai. On Tuesday, the Commission through a statement also instructed the government to be serious about arresting someone just because of their thoughts and expressions, as there is no respect and protection of human rights.
The statement said, "The commission instructs the Nepalese government to be serious about arresting someone just because of their thoughts and expressions, as there is no respect and protection of human rights." In addition, the commission requests political parties, activists and citizens to refrain from expressions and activities that affect the peace and security of the country.
The Commission has also followed up on the incident of the arrest of Prasai. Today, the Commission's team met with the District Police Complex, Bhadrakali, Kathmandu, Prasain and related police officers. Prasai was arrested at 12.30 pm tonight from his residence Sano Thimi, Bhaktapur and kept in the custody of District Police Complex Kathmandu.
