Home Minister Gurung's directive to stop illegal mining-crushers

Kavrepalanchok. Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has reached the Roshi area of Panauti city under the BP highway which was damaged by last year's landslide during monitoring and inspection. He has directed the concerned agencies to immediately shut down all the crushers that are operating illegally in the area.
He expressed concern that the landslides occurred after digging sand and gravel and no one came to prevent it. "The previous political parties allowed to operate illegally by setting up the contract and now if they do such activities, I will stop them strictly, other legal and illegal activities will be investigated immediately", he said. His argument was that when permission was given contrary to the norms, people's wealth was lost due to floods and landslides. He expressed serious concern that due to the uncontrolled mining of gravel and sand, the risk of landslides has increased in the Roshi area.
