Kathmandu. If the court wishes, a legal system has been proposed with the provision that a criminal can be ordered to stay at home and serve his imprisonment without sending him to prison. In that way, the offender sent for imprisonment will have to be monitored by installing an electronic monitoring device.

Such a proposal has been made in the draft bill prepared by the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs to amend the existing Act related to criminal offences. The proposal is in the draft of the bill made to amend the Criminal Offenses Sentencing and Enforcement Act. There is no such provision in the current law.
