Gas subsidy being scrapped
Kathmandu. The government has released Energy Consumption Growth and Export Strategy, 2083 with a plan to cancel the subsidy on LP gas for cooking till the financial year 2092 and 93 and provide subsidy on electric stoves. The strategy, published by the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation for the general public's suggestions, aims to gradually reduce the use of LP gas for cooking.
The Ministry of Energy has clarified that the strategy has been announced by the government with the aim of subsidizing electric stoves and increasing the consumption of clean energy.
