Kathmandu. Although US President Donald Trump has discussed a possible agreement on extending the ceasefire period with Iran and re-opening the Strait of Hormuz, he has not yet made a final decision. A senior official of the US administration has informed that no final conclusion has been reached on this issue even after a two-hour-long meeting with national security advisors at the White House.

It is said that Pesident Trump has expressed the opinion that the agreement will be moved forward only if it is ensured that the security interests of the United States are addressed and Iran's nuclear program is under control.

Earlier, it was reported that there was a preliminary agreement between the representatives of the US and Iran. The proposed agreement includes maintaining the current ceasefire for another 60 days and further talks on Iran's nuclear program.
