Former parliamentarians and ministers will not be included in the proportional list of CPN this time

Kathmandu. The Nepali Communist Party CPN has decided not to include the leaders who have previously become MPs directly or proportionally in the House of Representatives, ministers or members of the National Assembly in the proportional list this time. According to the party's general secretary Ganeshman Pun, this agreement between the top leadership aims to give opportunities to the new and young generation in politics.
It seems that the CPN is trying to bring innovation in the selection of candidates to address the changed political environment, especially after the Ujen movement in August. This decision is expected to discourage the tendency to repeat the position again and again and bring an inclusive and new leadership to the parliament.
Today is the last day to submit the closed list. According to the schedule of the Election Commission, the parties have to submit the closed list on the proportional side by the afternoon of January 14th. Out of the total 275 seats in the House of Representatives, 110 seats are to be selected through the proportional election system. Today is the last day as the Commission has given two days on Sunday and Monday, so there is a heavy presence of parties in the Election Commission.
