Kathmandu. Former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Cholendra Shamsher Jabra has been arrested. Police arrested him from his private residence in Maharajgunj. According to a senior police officer, the police team took him into custody based on the complaint lodged at the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office. However, the police have not yet released detailed information about the nature and nature of the complaint filed against him.
Jabara was drawn into intense controversy after being accused of seeking a share in the then Council of Ministers, favoring middlemen and causing judicial deviation while he was in the leadership of the court. The Nepal Bar Association and legal professionals conducted a strong protest and sit-in program against him in the Supreme Court premises for a long time.
