Formation of a task force under the coordination of Joint Secretary Home to reduce public holidays

Kathmandu. The meeting of the Secretaries of the Government of Nepal has made 22 important decisions, including the formation of a study task force for the review of public holidays. The meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Gobind Bahadur Karki on Monday decided to form a working group to study the matter of reducing or revising other holidays considering the fact that public holidays have been added to two days a week.

The working group formed under the coordination of the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs will have representatives from the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Land Management, the Ministry of Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration and the Ministry of Finance.
