Fixed Bridge Alaptra: Compulsion to carry the transformer from the suspension bridge
Kathmandu. Electricity service has been brought back into operation after changing the damaged transformer in Ambukhaireni rural municipality-6 Pughar of Tanahun. To bring the new transformer to that place, the local residents and Nepal Electricity Authority employees had to resort to a suspension bridge.
According to Nepal Electricity Authority, Bharatpur distribution center, electricity supply was affected after a transformer burnt down a few days ago. After removing the old transformer and installing a new one, the electricity service is now regular.
According to Vinod Dhakal, Information Officer of Bharatpur Distribution Center, the locals helped to carry the new transformer from the suspension bridge over the Trishuli river. Dhakal said that after the bridge was installed, the transformer was transported to the respective location by vehicle.
After changing the transformer, electricity service has been resumed in 62 households of Pughar. After the electricity service was interrupted, the affected locals got relief with the installation of a new transformer. When the transformer was taken to Pughar, the problem of the infrastructure there has come to the surface again. Due to the fact that the under-construction concrete bridge is in a dilapidated state, it is becoming difficult to easily transport electronic equipment and other materials through vehicles.
